Alumni David Bird ‘12 and Myles Emmons ‘14 have brought TIMARA’s influence to Chicago for two recent multi-channel events. Bird’s piece, “Aleatoric Tilt,” and Emmons’ “Cloud Listening” were both included in the Sonic Pavilion Festival 2025, a sonic arts festival that presented eight 24-channel works for a trellised speaker array at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park during August 2025. Yuri Popowycz ‘15, who studied violin performance at Oberlin, was also involved in the creation of Emmons’ piece. The pieces from the festival were respatialized for an 8-channel environment and presented once more on December 5th, 2025 at the Experimental Sound Studio’s Audible Gallery for the Sonic Pavilion Redux event.
