TIMARA students are known for making things happen, and there is no better place to see that in action than with the many TIMARA-adjacent student groups.

TIMARA majors involved in Modern Music Guild brought Pulitzer Prize winning composer Raven Chacon to Oberlin for a concert of his music. Students pictured here with Chacon after the concert, wearing hats made on a knitting machine in TIMARA’s makerspace.

Not only will you have the opportunity to rub shoulders with your favorite artists when you bring them to campus — but students often open for guests or else perform alongside them, too!

Students in WOBC, the campus radio station

From WOBC, the student-run campus radio station, to the student-run gear coop, makerspace, or Student Light and Sound (SLSA), at Oberlin, you are sure to meet like-minded folks and gain access to a broad range of technical resources organized by students, for students!

If you are looking for something a bit more informal, students also frequently organize house concerts and other informal events like the listening sessions first launched by TIMARA alum Jack Hamill, in 2019.
